Love Is An Illusion OR Is It?
"Love Is an Illusion… Or Is It?
They say love is an illusion…
but is it really?
Am I falling for you—
or just the version of you I created in my head?
If love isn’t an illusion,
why does it seem so easy for everyone else…
but never for me?
If love is real,
what happened to the version of you
that held onto me
like I was the most precious thing in the world?
What changed?
Or was I the only one who felt it that deeply?
Because one random day,
I woke up—
and it was gone.
The warmth.
The certainty.
The feeling I was so sure was real.
So maybe love is an illusion…
not because it doesn’t exist,
but because it doesn’t stay.
⸻
I didn’t always think this way.
There was a time when love felt simple—like something you could hold onto, something steady. I used to believe that when someone chose you, they would keep choosing you. That feelings didn’t just disappear without warning.
But now, I’m not so sure.
Maybe what we call love is just a collection of moments—intense, beautiful, and real in the moment—but not built to last forever. Maybe we see what we want to see in people, hold onto versions of them that only exist in our minds, and call that love.
Or maybe love is real… just not permanent.
And that’s the part no one really prepares you for—the way something can feel so certain one day, and then quietly slip away the next, leaving you questioning everything you thought you knew.
So I’m still wondering…
Is love truly an illusion?
Or is it just something we experience differently—something that comes, feels real, and sometimes… leaves?
I don’t have the answer yet.
Maybe I’m still learning what love really is.
